Excellent Beyond 5 Stars

Visited January 2014

Kumar and his team planned our entire 6-day escape in Nepal, from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We are a group of 20 people and yet, the entire trip went smoothly. We went temple running in Durbar Square, paragliding, cycling, white water rafting on the Trisuli River and sunrise trekking to the viewpoint of Sarangkot to witness one of the best sunrises I have seen in the world. Our trip will definitely be unforgettable. And we are planning to go back already. Asahi Treks made this happen. We already miss everyone!

Everest Base Camp Trek November-December 2013

We had a great base camp trek provided by Asahi Treks! A lot of thanks to our guide Sobin! He was perfect! He professionally did everything during our trek. He changed our route in the top to spend les time in the high altitude locations (Lobuche and Gorak Shep) so we saw both Kalapattar and base camp in one day and went back to 4400 meters and slep very well. :) A lot of thanks to Nava for great organization, he consulted us before the trip by mail and provided me with all necessery information! Thanks!!! Nikolay and Maria

Excellent 5 nights 6 days trek to Annapurna Base Camp and back with Bharat and porter

Visited December 2013
I had known Asahi Treks from my first time in Nepal 5 years ago when they helped me plan my trip in the magical country, and so I decided to call on their services again for my second time. Kumar and Nava were extremely helpful and quick to respond, and our guide Bharat was a hell of a nice guy throughout the trip. We had originally planned for a 7 night 8 day trek to Dimboche and back, but decided to change to Annapurna Base Camp after our flight to Lukla was cancelled. As we were on a tight schedule and could not afford to lose time, Asahi Treks was extremely flexible in changing our plans. Upon hearing our requests to change destinations, Asahi Treks organized whatever changes that were needed, and we were headed off to Pokhara within the same day. Our trip from Pokhara to Annapurna Base Camp and back was excellent, with Bharat always entertaining us and keeping us happy. The price for the trek itself was reasonable, and we were very satisfied. There are hundreds of tour companies in Nepal, but if you haven't decided on a specific one, I recommend Asahi Treks.

Excellent Hospitality and trek advices

Got to know our guide through a friend of ours and we contacted the guide personally vide email. Our guide's name is Nava Raj (navaraj_thapa@hotmail.com) and only upon arrival we knew he was also the manager of the company and had not been going trekking for 2 years; so he was delighted that we contacted him personally and fully accommodated our request of having him personally guiding us through our Lantang National Park trail. He was informative and even before arrival, gave us options and advices via email. Even while on the trail, we chat about plans and making arrangement and adjustment while trekking. My wife decided to spent additional 1 day in Kathmandu so he helped adjust and shave off 1 day from the trek. Humble, pleasant and helpful is what I would describe Nava. Caring for our needs and looking out for us while on trail or in tea-houses. Accommodating us in many ways and helping to motivate us moving forward. Would definitely recommend him as a guide or source of information about Nepal.

Remarkable All-Nepal tour operator

We were able to customize our trip the way we wanted. We didn’t want extra rest days, no problem. I wanted to summit Kala Patthar and visit EBC on the same day while my partner rested, no problem. On the way down when I got sick with a stomach issue and wanted to stop early, no problem. We were consulted with our options and if what we wanted was possible, they made it happen. Bikram was our guide and Umiss was our porter – both were exceptional at what they do. On the very first day, my partner got sick and we had to shorten the day. Bikram phoned ahead to make sure I didn’t pass our tea house, Umiss caught me as I was about to pass our stop and he made sure I didn’t go further. About an hour later, Bikram and M showed up and he even carried her pack for her. Throughout the entire trip, although I was hiking at a much faster rate then my partner, I knew I was always under his watchful gaze. Bikram stayed behind with M while she rested and slowly advanced while keeping constant phone contact with our porter and his guide friends to make sure they keep an eye on me. When M was sick early in the trip and when I got sick later in the trip, we both knew that Umiss and Bikram were concerned about us and they did whatever they can to make our trek as best at it can be. Bikram took food for me to my room and even helped me find a pharmacist to treat my indigestion issues. I was able to tick off all the items on our itinerary and did it in fewer days then originally planned – that was great! Like I said, they will make what you want happen if they can. When weather delayed our flights off the mountain, Nava and Kumar had our backs. The situation was beyond our guide’s help so I asked to talk to Kumar and that proved to be extremely helpful. With our team in Kathmandu hard at work, we were able to leave Lukla on the very first day weather allowed. (Day 1 was at ½ operational and we missed our flight. Day 2 saw no planes flying. Day 3, Nava was able to change airlines as I requested and we were on the 3rd plane off the mountain.) Nava again proved to be extremely helpful in resolving another issue. We tried to book a trip to Chitwan with a recommended company but they already sold out so we settled for the alternate operator. Our experience with this alternate operator wasn’t up to par so Nava worked out a partial refund for us. I am extremely happy with his work! Overall, this is the company to use if you’re considering a visit to Nepal.

Everest Base Camp with Bikram

I had an amazing experience with asahi trekking. From the minute we were picked up at the airport to being dropped off at the airport. Asahi trekking was extremely accommodating with all the details. Our guide on the EBC trek was so kind, fun and compassionate. I got sick a few times and he stayed by me, my hiking parter was sick and Bikram did everything he could to care for him. He was aware, concerned for his trekkers and was so warm hearted. I would highly recommend you request BIKRAM as your trekking guide wherever you go! the tea house accommodations were standard, we got a room with a bathroom as a special treat towards the end. we did the trek in 11 days. Bikram advocated heavily for our flight out when we were stuck in lukla for 3 days. I was so grateful to have a guide like him. I'd look around at other guides and say, "I think we have the best guide." That belief was confirmed when I heard sad stories from other trekkers about their sub-par guides. I felt blessed and always a sense of relief and safety with Bikram. We had a loyal and excellent porter named Umes. I would highly recommend Asahi trekking. Nava, the coordinator was fantastic, always quick to respond to emails and ensure we were happy and fully satisfied with our services. I added Bikram and Nava on Facebook and will use Asahi trekking again on my return trips to Nepal. NAMASTE!

Excellent Trek for Newbie

We did the Poon Hill 5 day trek with a guide and porter in October and I was quite scared because it was our first time to do a trek, and I haven't done much exercise beforehand. Fortunately, our guide Sabin was very helpful and encouraging, letting us walk at our own pace with plenty of rest stops in between. We stayed at really good tea houses, spartan but with hot shower and friendly owners as well as delicious food! It was all inclusive and everything was covered as initially agreed upon. They were also very flexible and allowed us a slight change in the planned route with no issues! They even lent us warm sleeping bags and down jackets for the cold weather. Will definitely recommend Asahi treks to everyone!

Brilliant Experience

I did the 18 day Annapurna circuit with Asahi. From the moment i contacted Anjan Kumar Thapa, he took care of everything for me on my Nepal trip. He was super-prompt and accurate in replying to all my correspondence. He offered flexibility that i was looking for and guided me to get insurance as well. (ihi bupa) He organised the trip, gave me tips for my trek and took care of every detail of my trip... ! It was the best experience of my life to do the trek with his company. His manager Mr. Nava, his driver, our guide - Bhagwan, our porters- Govinda and Mr. Adhikari, the warm and friendly staff and helper Suman at Holy Lodge (Kathmandu, Thamel), Mr. Madhukar, the friendly Mr. Rambo (Fishtail villa, Pokhara).... were all sweet, helpful, kind, warm, sincere, always smiling, generous.... i basically fell in love with the Nepalese people. The pick-ups and drops to and fro, from the airport ; the comfort of the lodges i satyed in kathmandu and pokhara; the food- staff- service- facilities, were super. The paper work, permits were handled completely by him. I had to only give my passport copy and photographs. He even organised a wonderful city tour for me in Kathmandu. During the trek, the tea houses were wonderful where food was tasty and very good. All hosts were very warm , welcoming, generous. Bhagwan, was wonderful company and always there to encourage us. He took care of every person in the group individually. Govinda was the fun guy, who made us smile and laugh. Mr. Adhikari's , em nature and warm smile, will be there in my heart always. They were just there for me, when i looked up for anything. When the group members were hit with altitude, Bhagwan guided us with use of Daimox and made us have hot water ! He knew interesting trivia and showed us various peaks on the way. Information and Entertaining, Warm and caring... thats the best way to describe them. From helping me walk on snow (Bhagwan) to even putting the water pipe in my mouth , when i needed it (bhagwan and Mr. Adhikari).. they were kind, amazing , always there ! It was like have three younger brothers on the trip with me. All in all, thanks to generous Kumar and his wonderful team members, i had the best experience of my life. I would happily recommend him to anyone. i intend to trek Nepal once a year now, and will be doing it always with him. I was a lone lady traveller, for the first time in Nepal, and the very first time on her own out of the house... and what a beautiful trip i had. Any problem, and help was a phone call away. Thank you, Asahi..! You really made me feel at home..!

Everest Base Camp Trek – organized by Asahi Treks

We had been planning the EBC Trek for a long time. On contacting Asahi treks, Kumar was very friendly in reaching out which made our first impression about this company really good. Prices negotiated were very reasonable with Sleeping bag and Down jacket included with a Guide and Porter. From the Airport transfer to the Kathmandu sightseeing and for the issues with Fight delays and cancellations to Lukla - Kumar was very helpful throughout and helped arranged a chartered flight - Makalu Air which raised our hopes as our schedule was very tight. Any problems encountered and Kumar and his team were just a phone call away to help us. We are very grateful for all his help and support through this adventure and to make it a success. The Trek was fantastic, a life-time experience indeed. We were apprehensive if we would be able to complete the trek but we did it ! Our Guide Bikram was patient, kind and took care of us to check for any signs of altitude sickness throughout the journey. We would recommend that everyone take travel insurance (World Nomads / IHI Bupa has the best which covered us ) as it's required for treks above 5000m where altitude sickness can cause moderate to severe problems and you have covered all the risks. The food served as part of the package was great and we would choose anything on the menu available at the village lodges. The Lodge accommodations were very good as well, considering how remote these places are from anywhere :) Out Hotel - Holy Lodge was very good as well, comfortable, wallet friendly and right in the heart of all the trekking action at Thamel, Kathmandu. We hope to do the Annapurna base camp sometime soon and Asahi Treks would undoubtedly be our choice. Kumar, Keep doing the good work to the global trekking community and to sum up - we truly enjoyed every moment of the EBC trek. I emly recommend Asahi Treks for your trekking adventures in Nepal. Keep trekking !
